How to set up a downloaded world as a singleplayer world:
- Download your desired world and then take note of where you saved the zip file at. You will need this later.
- Windows Explorer and type %appdata% in to the address bar and then press Enter.
- Open the folder called .minecraft. If you don't see it there, you can usually find it at C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
- Open the folder inside .minecraft called saves.
- Copy the contents of the zip file you downloaded (this would be the world you downloaded above) and then paste these contents in to the saves folder. Make sure you're NOT copying the zip file itself, but the contents inside of the zip file.
- Now you can start up Minecraft normally and you should be able to log in to the world as a Single Player game.
How to import a construct:
My server currently has the WorldEdit plugin installed. I'm not going to manually bring in anyone's constructs but my own. I already spend enough time maintaining the server, so if you want a construct imported, I'll leave that option available to you, but it's your own responsibility to get it done.
What you need: Either (A) the Single Player Commands mod, (B) a working version of MCEdit, or (C) a Minecraft Bukkit server and the WorldEdit plugin.
Depending on which method you choose, you would then either open the desired map in Single Player mode or on your own server, and then follow the documentation for your world editing tool to find out how to select the desired area, copy your desired area, and then save the copy to a schematic.
Once you have the schematic for your construct, let me know and I'll give you permission to paste your schematic in to my server's current world. (If you used MCEdit, I'll also instruct you on how to paste it, it's pretty simple.)
